When creating a invitation, you can choose whether to require strong authentication or opt for a light signature.
Strong authentication can be used, for example, when you want to verify the signer's identity or when the parties involved are not previously known to each other. Visma Sign currently supports strong authentication in five countries, each with its own authentication method. These countries are Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
A light signature, on the other hand, does not require authentication, making it suitable in situations where the signer does not have access to supported strong authentication methods, the parties are already familiar with each other, or the nature of the agreement does not require identity verification. The light signature is practically usable worldwide.
How to set the signature method for an invitation?
You can define the signing method when creating the document as follows:
For an individual signer:
Go to the Signers section and click Additional settings next to the desired signer. Then select Allow signing without strong authentication if you want to remove the requirement for strong authentication specifically for this signer.
If you cannot change the signature method individually, please contact the administrator. In this case, the this choice is blocked in the company settings.
For all signers at once:
In the "Signers" section, there is also a checkbox labeled "Allow all signatures without strong authentication." When this box is checked, all invited signers will sign without strong authentication—unless otherwise specified for individual signers. If the box is left unchecked, all invitations will require strong authentication.
