This section describes the most common error messages and steps to resolve them.

"Feature activation required" / "Service connection disabled"

  • Cause: Your organization has not authorized the Visma Sign Forms service integration in Visma Sign.

  • Solution: Click the Send request button in the view. This sends an email request to your organization's Visma Sign administrators, who must approve the connection at: Visma Sign -> Organization Settings -> Integrations -> Service Connections.

"Another user is currently editing this form."

  • Cause: The form is locked by another user to prevent collision in edit mode. The lock lasts for 15 minutes from the last action.

  • Solution: Wait for the other user to save and close the form, or wait for the lock to expire (up to 15 minutes).

"Lock owner is not this user or it has expired."

  • Cause: Your editing session has been inactive for too long and the edit lock has expired.

  • Solution: Reopen the form from the management view to reactivate the lock. Re-enter any unsaved data if necessary.

"You do not have access to this form"

  • Cause: Your account does not have management permissions for the Visma Sign folder to which the form belongs.

  • Solution: Ask your organization’s Visma Sign main administrator to grant management permissions for that folder.

"Total size of logo and PDF attachment exceeds the 12 MB limit."

  • Cause: The form's logo, attached PDF file, and files uploaded by the filler share a combined 12 MB maximum size quota.

  • Solution: Reduce the size of the logo or attached file, or disable the "Include in final PDF document" option.

"Malware or virus detected in your file."

  • Cause: The automatic virus scan rejected the uploaded logo or PDF attachment.

  • Solution: To ensure safety, recreate the file from a clean source and upload it again.
